So you want to help summarize BL magazines? Excellent to hear! We’re a very ambitious site that’s taking on a huge challenge in trying to bridge the gap between the Japanese BL industry and eager fans overseas. But with your help–we’re sure to succeed! Here are a few criteria to determine whether or not we’ll be able to bring you on board!

Note: We are not accepting applications for non-English editors/translators at the moment. Please check back again when we’ve got some momentum behind us!

As an Editor…

We’re in desperate need of skilled writers able to translate from Japanese to English or any of our supported languages (French, Spanish, German). If you’ve got access to a BL magazine subscription (or live somewhere you can pick it up when it’s released) and would like to share summaries on our site, we’d love to have you! We’re most desperately in need of J–>E translators, as these magazines are quite substantial, and it’s a real chore (though a labor of love!) to get these items summarized and shared with our readers. We’re willing to reimburse editors who purchase magazines the price of the magazine (without shipping, as that can get a bit high if you’re ordering from abroad), so if you’d like to help out, please take a few minutes to review our Editor Guidelines and drop us a note explaining your interest via the “Contact” button at the top of the page!

As a Translator…

Being the multilingual site that we are, we make sure to keep everything on the site available in all of our supported languages to the best of our abilities, and to that end, we need skilled translators from English to the target language. If you’d like to apply, please contact us via the “Contact” button at the top of the page and we’ll set up an evaluation to see how your skill set matches up with our needs! Please note that you’ll need to be fluent in English and a native speaker of the target language, and we’ll likely request you provide a few examples of translations so that we can evaluate your level.

As a Scanner…

Don’t quite have the Japanese skills to offer your services as an editor/summarizer for the site but still want to contribute? We’d still love to work with you if you can get your hands on a BL magazine subscription and share your raw scans with some of our editors! Not everyone here will have access to the magazines we summarize here, mostly for financial or location-related reasons, but if you don’t mind bending up a book to share scans with us (medium-quality, as these are obviously not going to be used for scanlation or anything, only summaries and a few select images for sharing), we’d love to get your help!

You’ll need a scanner and magazine access, of course, but beyond that–it’s all up to you! This is a case-by-case basis, so if you’re interested in being a scan-provider, please contact us via the “Contact” button at the top of the page for more information!
