And we’re back! Let’s see what Izumi and Ryouma have gotten themselves into for Act 31
When last we left our intrepid MCs, Izumi had just popped the big question to Ryouma: Can I top you? Ryouma was, suffice it to say…a little freaked out.
Izumi doesn’t wait for his response and begins his seductive technique, but Ryouma quickly stops him in his tracks, utterly baffled as to why Izumi is asking this all of a sudden.
Izumi: “Geez, what’s the big idea??”
Ryouma: “Izumi!! Do you not like me taking you now?!”
Izumi: “Hm? Of course I don’t like it! I LOVE IT!!
Izumi: “Well, I’m a guy, too! So I felt like showing my love for you as a guy!”
Ryouma doesn’t see the attraction at all, explaining that he’s a big, burly man, and he’s not cute at all like Izumi–why on earth would he want to top? Izumi corrects him:
Izumi: “YOU’RE SUPER CUTE, RYOUMA!!”
Plus, they’re both guys! So it shouldn’t matter who sticks it in who, right? Izumi is all set to start this new phase of their relationship where they BOTH get to show the other, physically, how much they care for one another.
Just one problem: Ryouma is so not ready for that. He feigns a stomach ache, and Izumi, concerned for his boyfriend’s well-being, begins mothering him while Ryouma relaxes. Ryouma apologizes for just not feeling like himself, when Izumi was excited for some bedroom fun. Izumi waves off his concern with a broad smile.
Izumi: “Don’t worry! We’ll have PLENTY of other chances to try!”
Ryouma lies awake in bed that night, sleepless, still trying to wrap his mind around why on earth Izumi would want to top him. What part of Ryouma does he find cute? And how could someone so cute himself possibly be on top? Plus, Ryouma just plain doesn’t want to do it! He managed to put Izumi off that night, but if they keep living together like this…if they really want to be ‘married’, then…Ryouma’s ass will forever be in danger.
This cycle of fear and avoidance continues for the next few days, with Izumi continually trying to find a good time for some top!Izumi nookie and Ryouma sneaking out of it some way or another. He can feel Izumi’s eyes on his ass at all times and wonders if this is how girls always feel around guys:
/Izumi always had his eye on Ryouma’s ass…/
Izumi: (“What about tonight? Still no good?”)
Torn, Ryouma recalls the company president’s warning, that the public won’t be nearly as lenient about Ryouma’s choice in partner as he was–and if it came down to a choice between Izumi or Ryouma’s career, which would he choose? He realizes that he never actually sat down and thought about what it meant, to date another guy.
When Izumi reminds him cheerily one morning as he leaves that they’ve both got the next day off–and that he’s looking forward to topping that night–Ryouma comes to a decision.
Meanwhile, Izumi has picked up on how Ryouma’s avoiding him, but he can’t understand why. As Rei drives him to his next appointment and offers an ear for listening, Izumi confesses he can’t figure out why Ryouma’s acting so strangely.
Rei: “Are you sure you didn’t do anything strange?”
Izumi: “Of course I didn’t! I did tell him to let me top him, but we still haven’t done anything, so I can’t have screwed it up somehow!”
Rei: /Aaaaaand there we go./
He recalls Izumi is, despite his looks, a pretty predatory, go-get’em guy, and Ryouma’s pride is probably getting in the way of bottoming for someone like Izumi.
When they arrive at the studio, though, something pretty horrific has happened: someone has shredded Izumi’s costume for the day. Rei concludes that it must be the stalker Izumi’s been dealing with lately…but there’s just one problem. They’re in a television studio–people can’t just walk in as they please.
Which means that the stalker is someone able to get in and out of a TV studio without being questioned.
And therefore…they could still be here.
Izumi heads into the dressing room to change into a new outfit, but as he’s stripping…
Izumi: “Eh…?” /Where did this person come from?!/ “Who are–”
Stalker: “Nuh uh, no talking. Or else you’ll regret it…”
Izumi struggles silently, as the stalker’s hands and lips wander, and he prays that someone will come in and find them–and luckily enough, another actress comes in and opens the curtain without realizing the room was being used. She screams, drawing every eye to the stalker, and he makes a break for it, disappearing without a trace. Rei rushes in and finds Izumi terrified and trembling, but otherwise unharmed.
The girl who found Izumi tries to comfort him, and he realizes that this is the actress who co-starred with Ryouma while he’d lost his memories, Marilyn. She’s flattered he knows her and hopes they can be friends, since she’s in the same agency as Ryouma. Rei explains that the shoot has been canceled for the day, in light of the incident, and they leave after Izumi thanks Marilyn for walking in on him and the stalker. Rei, though, isn’t certain that this has all been coincidental, since the only reason he missed Izumi being attacked just now was because he’d been told that the producer wanted to speak with him…when that hadn’t been the case at all.
Rei drives Izumi back to Ryouma’s place, and while Izumi goes to change clothes, Rei notices something unfortunate: a letter.
Ryouma: /Dear Izumi – Please give me some time to think. I’m going on a journey. Please don’t look for me. …Sorry. Ryouma/
Yup. Ryouma has run away.
To be continued…
